A sentence of 5 or 6 words is OK and can be recalled and repeated. The audio book will say a word or phrase in Chinese, then you must repeat it.

For this reason what your memory can recall is less. While driving and listening to an audio book, your attention is split between the two tasks. After the first chapter it became clear the author had never tried his audio book out in the car for appropriateness. This audio book provide a lots of content for a reasonable price and was designed for use while driving as per the title. I have been learning Chinese for a few months using a mobile app and wanted to continue learning on my 90 minute drive to and from work everyday. I use the Pimsler to supplement what I am learning in the Learn in Your Car program, and in fact, find the Pimsler easier to use in the car, since I want to have the PDF manual to refer to when I am listening to the Learn in Your Car Chinese. Without this program I would not be able to grasp what the more touted Pimsler program was trying to teach. I find a half hour is good time, and I repeat the lessons over and over. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting? My favorite part of this program is having the concrete manual available. I can listen and learn without the PDF download, but the manual is excellent and makes the material clear, helping with pronunciation and Chinese characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Learn in Your Car: Mandarin Chinese, Complete? If you could sum up Learn in Your Car: Mandarin Chinese, Complete in three words, what would they be?
